Maruti e Vitara: ARAI Range & Delivery Timeline

The Maruti e Vitara has become one of the most talked-about new electric SUVs in India. It is Maruti Suzuki’s first all-electric SUV for the Indian market, built on a special EV platform called HEARTECT-e. With two battery options, good performance and strong focus on convenience, the e Vitara is designed for everyday users as well as long-distance travellers.

Maruti Suzuki officially launched the e Vitara on December 2, 2025, and the company has confirmed that deliveries will begin in 2026.

Maruti e Vitara Specifications

The Maruti e Vitara comes with two battery pack options — 49 kWh and 61 kWh — giving buyers flexibility based on budget and driving needs.

Battery & Motor Output :

  • 49 kWh battery (2WD) : Power: ~142 bhp , Torque: 189 Nm
  • 61 kWh battery : 2WD: ~172 bhp and 189 Nm , AWD (dual-motor): Torque goes up to 300 Nm

The AWD system (called ALLGRIP-e) is available only with the bigger 61 kWh battery.

The HEARTECT-e EV platform gives the SUV a flat floor, better safety structure, and improved interior space, which is useful for families and daily commuters. While Maruti hasn’t revealed the complete feature list yet, the e Vitara is expected to offer modern features commonly seen in premium compact SUVs. The 61 kWh AWD version will especially attract buyers who want more power and all-weather capability.

Maruti e Vitara Charging Time

Charging time is one of the most important factors for EV buyers, and Maruti seems to have addressed it well.

Charging Times :

  • 7 kW AC home charger : 49 kWh: ~6.5 hours , 61 kWh: ~9 hours
  • 11 kW AC charger : 49 kWh: ~4.5 hours , 61 kWh: ~5.5 hours
  • DC fast charging : 10% to 80% in around 45 minutes for both batteries

These charging options make the e Vitara practical for everyday users. A full charge overnight at home is enough for daily commute, while fast charging helps during long trips.

Maruti e Vitara ARAI Range

The highlight of the e Vitara is its ARAI-certified range.

  • 61 kWh battery : Up to 543 km (claimed ARAI range)
  • 49 kWh battery : WLTP estimates are around 344 km, but real-world numbers in India may be slightly lower

As with every EV, the actual range depends on factors like :

  • Driving style
  • Traffic
  • AC usage
  • Road conditions

Even then, a claimed 543 km allows the e Vitara to compete strongly with other electric SUVs in the segment, reducing range anxiety for new EV buyers.

Maruti e Vitara Delivery Timeline

  • Launch date : 2 December 2025
  • Bookings : Expected to open soon through Nexa dealerships and official website
  • Deliveries : Begin in 2026

With this timeline, the e Vitara becomes one of the most important EV launches from a mass-market brand in India.

Maruti e Vitara Aftersales Support

Maruti understands that EV customers worry about charging support and service network. To tackle this, the company is building a strong ecosystem around the e Vitara.

Charging Infrastructure :

  • Over 2,000 charging stations being set up across 1,100+ cities
  • Partnership with 13 charging point aggregators
  • Access to around 70% of Maruti’s fast-charging network
  • Dedicated app called “e for me” to help locate and use chargers easily

Service Network :

  • More than 1,500 workshops upgraded to handle EV servicing
  • EV-ready technicians trained for battery tests, repairs and system checks

This setup ensures that e Vitara buyers won’t face issues even in smaller towns — a major advantage compared to many other EV brands.

The Maruti e Vitara is set to be a strong electric SUV for India, offering a claimed 543 km ARAI range, multiple battery options, practical charging times, and a wide service and charging network. While real-world range may vary, the e Vitara still stands out as one of the most promising EVs coming in 2026.
