New Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Launches With Ride Modes & Fresh Design

The 160cc motorcycle segment in India has become even more exciting. Hero has launched the Xtreme 160R 4V (Combat Edition), and it brings features that are usually seen only on bigger bikes. With ride-by-wire technology, cruise control and a sharper design, the new 160R is built for riders who want a stylish and feature-loaded bike without spending too much.

If you ride daily through city traffic or take weekend trips outside the city, the updated Xtreme 160R is definitely worth a closer look. Let’s go through all the new changes and see whether this bike fits your needs.

Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Ride Modes

One of the biggest upgrades in the new Xtreme 160R is the addition of three ride modes — Rain, Road and Sport. These modes change how the bike reacts to your throttle input, helping you ride more safely and comfortably in different situations.

  • Rain Mode gives softer throttle response for wet roads.
  • Road Mode suits normal daily riding.
  • Sport Mode gives quicker and more exciting performance.

This is made possible by the new ride-by-wire system, which makes the throttle smoother and more accurate compared to older cable systems. Whether you’re riding through monsoon traffic or enjoying an empty stretch of road, the 160R adjusts itself to your riding environment. This makes the bike very practical for people who face different road conditions every day.

Hero Xtreme 160R 4V for Daily Commute

When it comes to daily use, the new Xtreme 160R offers a good mix of comfort, performance and useful features. One major highlight is cruise control, which is rare in the 160cc category. On open highways, you can set a fixed speed and relax your hand — reducing fatigue on long rides.

The bike is powered by a 163.2cc engine that makes 16.9 PS and 14.6 Nm of torque. It is paired with a smooth 5-speed gearbox, making it easy to ride in both city traffic and on weekend trips. Suspension duties are handled by KYB USD forks in the front and a rear monoshock, giving a comfortable and stable ride. Add to that dual disc brakes and dual-channel ABS, and you get a bike that feels safe and confident in everyday riding.

If you want a bike for daily office rides, college runs or small highway trips, the 160R fits well into all these roles.

Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Design Changes

Hero has also updated the styling to make the Xtreme 160R look sharper and more premium. The bike now comes with a new LED headlamp, inspired by the bigger Hero Xtreme 250R. It gives the motorcycle a bold and aggressive front look.

The Combat Edition also introduces a stylish matte-grey colour with neon accents, along with other eye-catching dual-tone options like Kevlar Brown, Matt Slate Black and Neo Shooting Star. These colours give the bike a sporty and youthful feel. Inside the cockpit, you now get a full-colour LCD display that shows ride modes, fuel information and more. This gives the bike a premium touch rarely seen in this segment.

Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Top Speed & Performance

Mechanically, the Xtreme 160R continues with its trusted setup :

  • 16.9 PS @ 8,500 rpm
  • 14.6 Nm @ 6,500 rpm

While Hero has not officially confirmed the top speed, early reviews suggest that the bike is one of the quicker 160cc streetfighters, offering enough punch for fast city rides and occasional highway use.
