Kawasaki KLE500 Launched Overseas: Mid-Size ADV Reborn

After years of silence, Kawasaki has finally revived the “KLE” name with the all-new KLE500, marking a strong comeback in the mid-size adventure (ADV) motorcycle segment. The bike made its global debut in late October 2025, giving riders a fresh option in the fast-growing adventure market. This new Kawasaki KLE500 blends practical performance, modern features and classic ADV styling — making it one of Kawasaki’s most exciting launches in recent years

Kawasaki KLE500 Design and Features

The new KLE500 is built with a clear adventure-focused approach. It comes with a tall windscreen, a slim and compact fuel tank, sharp body panels and spoked wheels measuring 21 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear. This wheel setup is a big hint that the bike is made for rough patches, dirt trails and mild off-road use.

At its core, the KLE500 uses a steel trellis frame weighing around 19 kg. This frame is strong yet lightweight, helping the motorcycle stay stable on uneven surfaces while keeping handling easy for everyday riding.

Feature Highlights :

  • The standard model gets a simple and clear LCD instrument cluster.
  • The SE variant offers more premium touches : a 4.3-inch TFT screen, a taller windscreen, knuckle guards, and a larger skid plate for added protection off-road.

Riding comfort has also been well thought out. The bike offers an upright seating position, wide handlebars and a narrow mid-section for comfortable standing while riding on trails. The seat height is 860 mm, which may feel tall for some riders. Ground clearance is 172 mm, enough for light adventure riding but not aimed at hardcore off-roading.

Kawasaki KLE500 Mileage & Performance

Powering the KLE500 is a 451 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, the same unit that runs the Ninja 500 and Z500. Kawasaki has not officially shared exact power and torque figures for this bike, but based on the Ninja 500, the KLE500 is expected to deliver around 45.4 hp and 42.6 Nm.

Mileage figures aren’t confirmed yet, but the efficient twin-cylinder engine is expected to offer good fuel economy suitable for long-distance touring as well as daily use. Kawasaki has also used lightweight internal parts and a smart intake design to make this engine smooth and easy to handle.

For adventure riders, suspension setup is crucial — and the KLE500 does well here :

  • 210 mm front suspension travel
  • 200 mm rear suspension travel

This allows the bike to soak up bumps and rough patches better than typical road bikes.

The KLE500 has been launched globally but is yet to arrive in India. The expected launch timeline is sometime in 2026.

Price expectations are based on Kawasaki’s current CKD (semi-import) strategy. Since the Ninja 500 costs around ₹5.66 lakh ex-showroom, the KLE500 is expected to be priced around :
