KTM RC160 Confirmed for India – Price, Features & Launch Details Revealed!

The wait is finally over! KTM has officially confirmed that the much-talked-about KTM RC160 is coming to India, with its launch expected in October 2025.
This exciting new sportbike will mark KTM’s entry into the 160cc segment, taking on popular rivals like the Yamaha R15 V4 and Suzuki Gixxer SF.

With the RC160, KTM plans to replace the smaller RC125 and bring something more powerful, stylish, and fun to ride — perfect for riders who want the thrill of a KTM without spending too much.

KTM RC160 Full Specifications & Features

Although the official spec sheet isn’t out yet, leaked information and reports give us a clear idea of what to expect. The RC160 will share many parts with the 160 Duke and RC200, ensuring strong performance and solid handling.

Chassis, Suspension & Brakes

  • Built on KTM’s lightweight steel trellis frame, similar to the Duke and RC200.
  • Front suspension: WP upside-down (USD) forks for better cornering and stability.
  • Rear suspension: WP monoshock for a smoother ride.
  • Brakes: 320 mm front disc and 230 mm rear disc, paired with dual-channel ABS for safe braking.
  • Wheels: 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres.

Design & Ergonomics

The KTM RC160 will carry KTM’s signature sharp, aggressive look with aerodynamic fairings and sporty clip-on handlebars.
The design inspiration clearly comes from the RC200 and RC390, giving it a premium, race-ready stance.

Inside the cockpit, we can expect a modern 5-inch LCD or TFT display with smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call and music control, and possibly even ride stats — making it “Among the most well-equipped bikes in its category.”

KTM RC160 Top Speed

While KTM hasn’t officially revealed the top speed yet, reports suggest that the RC160 could hit between 135 km/h and 145 km/h.
With an expected power output of around 19–20 PS, the RC160 should offer better acceleration and highway performance than most of its rivals in the 160cc segment.

So, if you’ve always wanted a sporty bike that can handle city commutes and weekend rides equally well, the RC160 might just hit the sweet spot.

KTM RC160 Engine Details

The RC160 will use a 160cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, likely based on KTM’s 200-series architecture.
According to early reports:

  • It will produce around 19–20 horsepower and 15 Nm of torque.
  • A 6-speed gearbox will come standard, and KTM might even offer a quickshifter for smoother gear changes — a first in this class.

The engine on the 160 Duke makes about 18.7 bhp and 15.5 Nm, so expect the RC160 to deliver slightly higher numbers since it’s tuned for sportier performance.
