Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) had a standout month in October 2025, selling a massive 6,50,596 two-wheelers. This strong number came from both domestic demand and export markets working together. When compared to last year, Honda saw almost 9% growth (YoY), and compared to September 2025, sales jumped around 15% (MoM).
Let’s break down what helped Honda achieve this huge boost — and what it means for the brand going forward.
Honda October 2025 Sales
Out of the total sales, Honda sold 5,98,952 units in India, while 51,644 units were exported. This clearly shows that the domestic market still plays the biggest role in Honda’s performance, even though exports continue to support growth.
If we look at the year-to-date (YTD) numbers from April to October 2025, HMSI sold a total of 36,41,612 units. This includes :
- 32,78,451 units sold in India
- 3,63,161 units exported
Here, exports grew 12.94%, but domestic sales dropped by 4.54% in this period. This shows that although October was strong, earlier months had lower demand.

Impact of GST Changes on Honda Sales
One of the biggest reasons for Honda’s strong October performance was the GST change that came into effect on 22 September 2025. The government reduced GST on two-wheelers and made the tax system simpler.
Because of this GST cut, scooters and motorcycles became more affordable for buyers. This attracted a lot of customers who were planning to buy a two-wheeler but were waiting for the right moment. Dealers also reported a good increase in footfall and enquiries.
This GST reform acted like a boost right before the festive season, pushing Honda’s sales to a higher level.
Best-Selling Honda Scooters in 2025
Honda may not have announced individual model sales for October, but one major highlight stands out — the Honda Activa family crossed 35 million total sales in India.
This includes the Activa 110, Activa 125, and Activa-i. The Activa has been one of the most trusted scooters in India for years, and this milestone shows how strong that trust still is. It’s very clear that the Activa range contributed heavily to Honda’s big numbers in October.
Festive Season Demand in India
October usually brings major festivals like Diwali, a time when people prefer buying new vehicles. In 2025, this festive buying mood combined with lower GST and better affordability created the perfect environment for strong two-wheeler sales.
Many first-time buyers and families took advantage of the price benefits, helping brands like Honda gain momentum throughout the month.
Growth in the Two-Wheeler Segment
Honda’s success also reflects the overall improvement in the Indian two-wheeler industry during this period. The GST rate cut made commuter bikes and scooters — especially those under 350cc — more pocket-friendly.
Honda Domestic and Export Sales 2025
While October performed extremely well, the YTD numbers show mixed results for Honda :
- Domestic sales: 32,78,451 units (down 4.54% YoY)
- Exports: 3,63,161 units (up 12.94% YoY)
This difference shows that the Indian market had weaker months earlier in the year, but exports remained strong. The good part for Honda is that global demand for its two-wheelers is still rising.
YoY & MoM Growth: What the Numbers Tell Us
October’s ~9% YoY and ~15% MoM growth clearly show a sharp recovery. This rise isn’t just because of the festive season — the GST drop has played a huge role in boosting customer confidence and turning attention back to two-wheelers.
However, the fall in domestic YTD numbers shows that Honda must keep this momentum going in the coming months to fully balance the earlier drop.
Honda’s October 2025 performance sends a clear message — when market conditions are right, and when a brand has strong products like the Activa, sales can bounce back in a big way. The coming months will show how well Honda can maintain this growth and continue to build on the confidence gained from the GST cut and festive demand.
