Honda has officially launched the CB1000F Neo-Retro, a motorcycle that perfectly combines vintage style with modern engineering. First seen as a concept at the 2025 Osaka Motorcycle Show, the production-ready CB1000F is now turning heads worldwide. With its classic silhouette and a powerful engine borrowed from the Fireblade, Honda is taking a bold step into the neo-retro motorcycle segment.

The CB1000F is based on the CB1000 Hornet platform, but Honda has given it a fresh retro twist. It comes with a round LED headlamp, brushed metal panels, and a flat single-piece seat that pays homage to Honda’s iconic CB bikes. The upswept exhaust and sculpted fuel tank enhance its vintage appeal, yet everything is fully functional and modern.
A new subframe supports a more relaxed riding posture, making it ideal for both city rides and long-distance touring. The steel backbone frame remains, but the bike’s geometry has been refined for better comfort and control.
Performance: Smooth Power for Every Ride
Under the tank sits a 998cc inline-four engine derived from the 2017 CBR1000RR Fireblade. It produces 123.7 hp and 103 Nm of torque—slightly less than the CB1000 Hornet, but tuned for smoother low and mid-range performance.
Honda has revised the camshafts, intake, airbox, and added a 4-2-1 exhaust system for a more usable power delivery. Gear ratios are adjusted too: shorter first and second gears for quick take-offs, and taller third to sixth gears for relaxed highway cruising.
At 100 km/h in sixth gear, the engine runs at just 4,000 rpm—quieter, smoother, and more fuel-efficient than its Hornet sibling.
Honda CB1000F Neo-Retro Top Speed and Mileage
While Honda hasn’t officially revealed the top speed, estimates suggest it could hit 230–240 km/h thanks to its Fireblade DNA. Fuel efficiency is expected to be around 16–18 km/l under normal riding conditions. The revised gearing and engine tuning make the bike surprisingly economical for a litre-class motorcycle, especially on long rides.

Honda will offer the CB1000F in three dual-tone color schemes:

The bike weighs 214 kg with a full 16-litre tank, slightly heavier than the Hornet but more stable. The seat height is 795 mm, making it accessible to a wider range of riders.
Suspension duties are handled by Showa components: a 41mm SFF-BP inverted fork at the front and a fully adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking is taken care of by twin 310mm Nissin discs at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear.
Honda CB1000F Neo-Retro India Launch and Price
While the CB1000F is already available in Japan and Europe, Honda is expected to bring it to India in early 2026. It could be showcased at Auto Expo 2026 or launched shortly after.
In Japan, the bike is priced at ¥1,397,000 (~₹8.17 lakh). In India, it’s expected to be slightly above the CB1000 Hornet, likely around ₹8.25–₹8.75 lakh (ex-showroom), offering strong value for a premium neo-retro motorcycle.
